Schedule fewer visits with focused care at Move For Health Physical Therapy

Your one-hour direct care sessions at Move for Health Physical Therapy are more intensive, customized and holistic as compared to insurance-based care.  This means that you will need fewer physical therapy visits to achieve your goals as compared to insurance-based physical therapy services.  With Move For Health Physical Therapy your follow-up visits will be less frequent (eg. once/week, once/month and annual check-ups) with focus on keeping your healthy and independent with your health and recovery.

Other factors that may influence your cost of physical therapy care include any out-of-network coverage you might have, along with your insurance coverage co-pay and deductible requirements.  Insurance-based physical therapy typically requires an increased number of physical therapy visits each week and for a longer time period as compared to the exceptional care and lower  number of physical therapy visits you will need at Move for Health Physical Therapy.

Darcy will evaluate and treat you with or without a physician referral.  The research is clear that starting with Physical Therapy first decreases your overall cost of rehabilitation (including office visit, treatment and diagnositic costs) for pain and orthopedic problems. Whether your get a referral or not, Darcy will coordinate your physical therapy care with your primary care, internal medicine, orthopedic, pain management and/or neurologic physician(s) as needed.

After starting physical therapy patients should expect to make significant progress within the first 1-4 weeks after starting physical therapy.  If you do not progress as expected, Darcy will refer you to your physician for further follow-up as needed.

In addition, as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Darcy is licensed under the board of medicine in Virginia to evaluate and treat patients through direct physical therapy care. He has additional direct access certification, continuing education and practice experience to support his holistic, whole body movement approach to your care.
